Seize the day for Jesus Christ!

As we get older we tend to focus on the good old days, believing they were better than today. The reality is that as we get older we lose things and people that were important to us. We lose our health, our stamina and energy, our loved ones, our careers, our friends, etc. BUT our REAL life is not in the past. It is TODAY! God doesn't want us living in the past and focusing on all we have lost. He wants us living for today and looking to our future in His Kingdom. If we live in the past constantly thinking about what we have lost, we miss out on so many blessings God is giving us now. We fail to appreciate all the many good things, and people in our lives today, because we keep looking back and compare our present life to our past life. That's a mistake. It robs us of our "present" life, making us prisoner to our past. For most of us, in spite of our many losses as we age, we are truly blessed today in many ways that we can't see or appreciate if we live in the past. For many if us our health, our energy, our loved ones, our careers, or our friends are gone and nothing will bring them back. It's OK to remember the past, but don't live there and allow our memories to rob us of the blessings and joy God gives us today. Look around you NOW and enjoy and appreciate all that God gives us today because it too we be gone soon! Today is all that really matters. Make the most of it while you still can!
